Who We Serve

Our mission is to serve the food-insecure children of Champaign County

What Is Food Insecurity?

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), food insecurity is defined as “a household-level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food.” Feeding Our Kids defines food insecurity as the absence of access to food, which, for a kid, can include the lack of a full pantry as well as being unable to prepare/open the food themselves.

Our food bags are shelf-stable and include food that requires little preparation to eat and is attractive and nutritious for kids.

Each kid in a family should receive their own bag.
