We have many volunteer opportunities through our program. Food sorting is done every week on Wednesdays at our storage area. We have 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. sorts on alternating weeks. Volunteers also deliver food to each school. We utilize signup.com to coordinate our volunteers.
Our nonprofit is unique because kids are welcome to help sort food! We believe that it is important for kids to gain an awareness of community issues and to learn as early as possible that they have the power to help and create change! Many teens from middle school and high schools assist us to help fulfill their honor society service hours because our sorts are a fun and easy way to serve.
In addition, we are looking for businesses, clubs, and churches that are able to have food drives.
If you are interested in donating your time, please sign up to sort or deliver food, or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for help with setting up a food drive. Our volunteers are awesome and amazing, and we can’t thank them enough! Our nonprofit exists and continues to grow because of the kindness and generosity of the people in Champaign-Urbana!
